DIY Bulletin Board Makeover
I'm so excited to share this tutorial with you. It just kind of evolved one night, I was sick of seeing my bulletin board and considered just moving it to another room besides my office but then this DIY project came upon me! Here is what my plain old bulletin board looked like:
I began by coating the cork with a thick coat of Shimmer Mod Podge. Ah how I love that stuff. Just gives a nice golden glow. Then I painted the edges with 2 coats of a fun green paint. Once it dried, I sanded the edges with a piece of sand paper (HORRIBLE NOISE!!!!) to create a distressed look. I love how it turned out. But the board still needed something more overall. I decided that stamping it with white stars would be awesome in a starfish kinda way. The problem was that it was evening and I did not have a star stamp! Enter this random but useful potato stamp tutorial. What can I say, when the creative mood hits, it hits!!
I used a white ink pad and it worked really well! It looks all beachy now and ready for summer. Here's a peak into my office- one of my favorite places! Stay tuned for a post about that flower painting you see on the wall above my new bulletin board. Have a GREAT week!!
