DIY Decorative Paper
I love all those decorative papers at World Market and sometimes the Dollar Tree. Here is a really easy and fun DIY project that costs next to nothing. All you need are some paper bags, the ends of your Romaine lettuce hearts, and paint. Cut and lay out your brown paper bags and prepare your paint stations like you can see in the next photo.
Just dip the lettuce ends in the paint, and stamp! The first stamp will be really thick, so you may want to dap on a scrap paper. I loved the variety of light and dark stamps though. Cover your papers in whatever patterns and colors that you want, and let them dry well.
You can use these handmade decorative papers for a ton of things. Before I mailed my niece a present for her birthday, I wrapped the package in the pretty paper and it looked so much more festive. I adore this picture my mom-in-law sent me of her opening it!!
I also covered a canvas in some of the white/gold paper and hung it in my bedroom. I intended to use this as an earring holder (make holes with tacks in the canvas and hang earrings from it) but I really love it just the way it is.
Hope you have fun using lettuce, other veggies, stamps, or anything else you can think of to make some fun paper!
