Marine Corps Party
My husband Kyle just ended his active duty contract with the USMC! I am so proud of him for all his hard work and dedication to serving our country that I decided to throw him a party Marine Corps style! Here are some pics if you'd like to see.
I made little flags for the brownies using some toothpicks, large hole punch, and a Marine Corps recruiting magazine.
Then I threw together some runners for the table and counter using grocery bags, camouflage duct tape, and a white paint pen. This is a really fun DIY you can make by just repeating a phrase. One of mine said "Once a Marine, always a Marine" and the other, "Semper Fidelis~ Always Faithful". My mom is a florist so she came up with the brilliant idea of making a floral arrangement in Kyle's boots! They came out so great!
Of course I had to make army men cupcakes, we just pretended they were infantry Marines =).
We also had a basket for "Try an MRE" which if you're not familiar stands for Meal Ready to Eat. It's what the Marines eat when they're out in the field or deployed.
On the coffee table we put out some of Kyle's Marine Officer books, and I scattered some of his challenge coins that most Marines have.
We had a great time, and I hope my husband felt how much we love and appreciate him, and the thousands of servicemen and women out there sacrificing for our country. I just have a soft spot for Marines =). Congrats Kyle!
